Dr. Hosemann is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mississippi before graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr. Hosemann then completed an orthopedic residency at The University of Alabama, before completing an additional year of fellowship and specialty training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at The American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham. While completing his fellowship, Dr. Hosemann served as the associate physician for Auburn University and the Birmingham Barons.

With specializations in all sports-related injuries, including disorders of the shoulder, elbow and knee, Dr. Hosemann is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. In addition to his orthopedic experience, he also has experience in on-the-job injuries and navigating workers’ compensation claims.

As a proud husband and father, Dr. Hosemann enjoys staying busy with his family. Also an avid outdoorsman, he says he can always be found somewhere outside, preferably fishing, when he’s not at Capital Ortho.

These funds were used for three separate biomechanical studies: 1.To study the biomechanical characteristics of three novel self-cinching stitches used in shoulder arthroscopy. 2. To evaluate the effect of the size of tissue penetrating devices on stitch strength in rotator cuff repair. 3. To study the effect that the depth of tissue bite has upon stitch strength in rotator cuff repairs.
